Joanne Ormston

Joanne is a non-lawyer Partner in the firm. She has worked as Practice Manager since 2004 having initially joined the firm as a Legal Cashier in 2002.

She is a Chartered Management Accountant and has a BSc honours degree in Business Management.

Joanne’s role encompasses everything from strategic planning and implementation, human resources, facilities management, compliance (as deputy Compliance Officer for Legal Practice and Compliance Officer for Finance & Administration) and financial management.

Well respected in her role, Joanne was recently invited to speak at a Practice Management Conference in London about the changing legal landscape and the opportunities for law firms to enhance services offered to clients outside of traditional legal advice. She is a former winner of Business Woman of the Year at the Oldham Business Awards and a keen advocator of the young apprentice scheme which has seen seven recent new recruits into the business.

As a keen supporter of her local community and the community in which she works Jo is proud to be a trustee at the Willow Wood Hospice. Willow Wood is an adult Hospice providing specialist palliative care for patients with life limiting illnesses, both cancer and non-cancer diagnosis.

In her spare time, Joanne enjoys keeping fit by running, walking and attending gym classes. She also follows Man Utd and used to enjoy the ‘inevitable’ trophy win every season!
