Lucy Croft
Lucy is an experienced employment solicitor working with both claimants and respondents.
She joined Pearson from a specialist employment firm which advised a wide range of clients, including international businesses.
She enjoys working with SME clients providing day to day advice including drafting staff handbooks, contracts of employment and advising on policies and procedures.
Other areas of expertise include: both advising on, and drafting, settlement agreements and she has successfully negotiated large settlements for individuals. With regards to respondents, she aims to minimise the value of settlements where they are commercially viable and, where litigation cannot be avoided, she will be tenacious for her clients.
Lucy completed a degree in English Language before qualifying to teach English to foreign learners (TEFL qualification) and went on to teach English at summer schools in China. She has also worked in IT for several years before pursuing her ambitions of a legal career and qualifying as a solicitor in 2020.
She has specialised in employment law ever since.
I enjoy making a difference to both businesses and individuals. Employment law is fast changing and therefore you are constantly growing your knowledge and experience. Further, the mixture of contentious and non-contentious work allows for a good blend in terms of caseload.
The best thing about my role is achieving positive outcomes and taking away some of the stress, whether that be in helping with day-to-day operations, or assisting with tribunal proceedings. The best reward is getting positive feedback from clients and knowing the difference that has been made.
In her spare time Lucy is keen on fitness, attending a morning bootcamp to get her day off to a great start. She has also completed a 50 mile run for Maggie’s Cancer Care charity
Little known fact about Lucy – She has been on ‘Come Dine With Me’ and is a ¼ German.
