Gary Jones
Gary is part of our experienced property department and specialises in all aspects of Commercial Property.
One of his areas of expertise are leases for the care industry and regulated providers of care to disadvantaged adults, acting on bespoke property matters for companies providing care services, as well as negotiating and completing business leases and advising on associated commercial agreements and lease rental issues.
He has over 20 years of legal expertise and joined Pearson from WHN Solicitors Ltd in Bury where he worked for 20 years, the last 12 as partner and director.
Gary has seen many changes in commercial property law over the years, however he highlights green leases as one of the next big things in property law, with the ongoing environmental concerns associated with them.
“I enjoy the variety that commercial property gives, such as from dealing with development land and commercial estates and industrial estates, to leases of high street shops and being part of either a landlord or tenant, or seller and buyer journey, to complete their particular transaction.”
Gary has experience in business which is a unique and ideal background to his role as a solicitor. Prior to undertaking a career in law, he worked for the Inland Revenue, followed by a role as a commercial officer for a manufacturing company in Hyde. He enjoyed dealing with the company’s legal and business regulatory aspects and this led him to a law degree and post graduate legal education to become a solicitor.
He went on to study Law and Business at the University of Wolverhampton.
In his spare time Gary plays cricket for Unsworth Cricket Club playing regularly and coaching. He is also a director of the club, having been a life long member.
He is also a lifelong supporter of Manchester City and coached a local football team for nine years and now continues to help out the club and the team.
