Emma Kendall
Emma is a specialist family solicitor with a wealth of experience and has been dealing exclusively with family cases since qualification in 2008, she is passionate about this area of law.
Over the course of her career Emma has handled hundreds of cases including divorces (both defended and undefended), dissolution of civil partnerships, matrimonial finances including division of the family home, family business, pensions and other assets.
Emma has also been instructed to prepare separation agreements and cohabitation agreements together with financial consent orders. She has represented clients in children disputes including relocation cases, residence and contact, as well as representing and helping parents and grandparents in these proceedings.
Emma is passionate about the law and any legal changes and she prides herself on her attention to detail.
As she says every client is unique and each one has their own set of circumstances and problems on which they need help and advice. Dealing with her clients as individuals Emma adopts a constructive and non-confrontational approach to family matters. However, where necessary, she is robust aiming to negotiate the best settlement for her clients whilst always being keenly aware of the emotional and financial costs of the proceedings.
She sets out all the options for clients and aims to settle matters as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Emma can advise on the short and long term implications of any proposed financial settlement and is supported by the Pearson in house financial advisers who can further assist the client where necessary.
Emma is a member of Resolution, an organisation with 6,500 family lawyers and other professionals who are committed to resolving disputes in a non-confrontational way. As a Resolution member Emma adheres to the Resolution Code of Practice.
Emma conducts her own advocacy where possible and has a good relationship with local barristers for contested cases.
She studied law at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and continued her studies in law passing the LPC at the University of Central Lancashire with distinction.
