Financial & Legal News

It’s been a charitable year so far….

As a firm we get involved in the community in which we all live and work and as we reach the end of the financial year we are looking back proudly on what we have achieved.

Our annual Wills Weeks for Dr Kershaw’s and The Christie raised over £1500.  We have also taken part in fundraising events for Macmillan Nurses, Comic Relief, Great Legal Bakes Sales in aid of the Citizens Advice Bureau and access to justice, our clinical negligence team ran the Manchester 10k on behalf of Medequip4kids, our offices donated Christmas foodstuffs to the Oldham Foodbank and toys to the Tameside radio collection, and we have supported the RSPCA along with Breakey Nuttall.

Partner, Mike Pitt, took to the saddle again completing the Olympic Route and raising £1,000s for MAG, the mines action group.  Similarly financial services Partner, Richard Eastwood, dusted off his running shoes and did a 10k for children’s cancer charity.

Action Oldham Fund has been a major charity for our property team this year, with regular donations for every property sold within the OL postcode.  We are a big sponsor of their Revolution Ball in April, taking part in a trek up Snowden later in the summer and in May some of our solicitors are upping the stakes doing a charity zip wire flying at up to 100mph on the fastest and second longest zip wire in the world, all in the name of charity.

Just to illustrate, here is a link to a video of what we will be doing… www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=Kp0QTBro2NU

Jade Hegarty, from our Private Client team is taking part in the challenge and said:  “We want to raise as much money as we can for this worthwhile cause and we have set ourselves the very manageable task of raising £1,000 between a team of four of us, any donations would be greatly appreciated, and we would love for us Pearson representatives to be able to hand over a hefty sum!”
