Girl 6 Dies Due to Missed Meningitis Diagnosis

A 6 year old girl was taken to The Royal Oldham Hospital by her mother, Kirsty, on 3 February to be told by doctors that her rash was just bruising - sadly the next day Layla-Rose died.

Layla-Rose's mother brought her to the hospital around 8.30pm where she was assessed by a triage nurse after waiting 25 minutes. She was identified as needing a doctor within 10 minutes, however, it was 1 hour and 50 minutes before she was seen by a doctor. She also developed sepsis due to the virus.
