The employment team is looking for a dedicated Employment Solicitor (2 to 8 years PQE) to join our award-winning firm, ranked in The Legal 500 directory. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to both employers and employees on a range of employment issues.
  • Manage Employment Tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal, discrimination (sex, race, disability), and more.

  • Negotiate and draft settlement agreements for both employers and employees.

We are currently seeking an experienced Child Care Secretary or Legal Assistant to join our established Child Care team at our offices in Oldham.

Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers Ltd are looking for an ICT Support Technician and Software Engineer to join their busy ICT department to provide ICT support across five locations in Oldham, Hollinwood, Failsworth, Milnrow and Uppermill. The role will be primarily based at the site in Uppermill, but regular travel to the other sites is expected.

The ICT Technician will report to the IT Manager for maintaining and operating the companies ICT applications, network infrastructure and main software applications. The ICT Technician will carry out any specific instructions given by the IT Manager and work to a daily schedule unless directed otherwise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development, support, maintenance and security of all ICT applications and systems within the business.
  • Assisting in the testing installation, configuration and installation of software.
  • Providing technical advice and assistance in the offices at each of the five sites to support staff.
  • Upskill and share relevant ICT knowledge with other members of the ICT team.
  • Develop the consistent use of the PP4W application across the business. (Partner – Legal Practice and Case Management software)
  • Produce documented procedures for all aspects of the maintenance of ICT resources.

Duties include:

  • To operate as first and second-line support for staff throughout the business.
  • To maintain the computer networks logging actions taken.
  • To maintain, upgrade, and repair a wide range of laptops and peripherals and to install applications correctly.
  • To identify problems with the network and to resolve those swiftly and efficiently.
  • To install hardware and to ensure peripherals work with computers.
  • To advise on the compatibility of hardware, applications, and operating systems.
  • To identify and resolve laptop, peripheral and application errors.
  • To install and set basic configuration options for equipment such as switches and access points.
  • To install and maintain standard network cabling and to perform basic diagnostic and recovery routines on network equipment.

Complete the below daily:

  • ensure that computers are functional in each site’s offices.
  • undertake a visual check of rooms and facilities.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff concerning ICT as required and provide telephone, email, and desktop support to staff.
  • To control, maintain, install and set up when required, ICT and audio-visual equipment held within the business.
  • To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the businesses ICT network, connections, and components.

To undertake, from time to time, such other duties as may reasonably be requested by the IT Manager.

Desirable Aptitudes:

To be successful in this role, we as a business will be looking for the following aptitudes from an individual:

  • Provide exceptional ICT support during difficult and busy schedules. Pearson Solicitors is a fast-paced working environment, having the ability to adapt to demanding and new situations will ensure the individual is successful in their role as an ICT Technician.
  • Discuss and explain technical issues to non-technical staff members.

This is a permanent contract subject to a three-month probationary period.

Line of Responsibility:

Hours of Work:

This role requires a 37-hour working week.  Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm., and 8.00 am to 3.30 pm on Friday. A 30-minute lunch break will be taken each day. A holiday entitlement of 5.8 weeks is included within the salary and holidays will be taken in cooperation with the IT Manager to ensure consistent ICT support for the business.
